Welcome to the nbi

The new business incubator (nbi) is a management support unit that reports directly to the Management Board of the voestalpine Steel Division and sets the frame for developing new business ideas. As an innovation hub, we are primarily concerned with promising ideas outside of the existing core business. We offer our employees the necessary freedom in a creative start-up environment to develop new business models and new innovative products and services from promising ideas with maximum innovative strength. They are supported by professional mentoring and coaching.

We are part of the PIER 4 innovation ecosystem and are always interested in an intensive exchange with the outside world and our network partners due to the way we work.

Collaborating with innovative personalities and exchanging knowledge across industry boundaries promote innovation and make new ideas fly. We work together with business partners on a variety of different projects in an effort to implement innovative ideas and business models. We also collaborate with Austrian colleges and universities of applied sciences. Some of our projects are even awarded to student groups. This gives students an opportunity to present their results in our ideas workshops.
