Girl power at voestalpine

Girls' Day, an international action day, took place on 24 April. Female students from the 3rd and 4th grades of different secondary schools spent the day in a craft, technical or natural science enterprise. They had the opportunity to get to know their own skills and occupations and to establish important contacts.

voestalpine provided the girls with a day in the apprentice workshops with the apprentices. They were able to see first-hand a variety of different occupations that can be learned at voestalpine in the areas of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, production technology, etc.

The day was a complete success. Positive feedback was received with regard to making a workpiece (candle holders made in collaboration with the voestalpine apprentices) to the food in the canteen. Three-fourths of the girls can imagine themselves being trained in a technical occupation.
