Die Gebrauchsdauer und damit die Wahl der Beschichtung hängen vom Bodentyp ab. Bodenwiderstand, Bodenfeuchtigkeit, Chlorid-, Sulfatgehalt und primär der pH-Wert sind hier relevant. Stückverzinkte Pfähle empfehlen sich mit ihrer dickeren Zinkschicht für anspruchsvollere Luft- und Bodenverhältnisse. Bei Bodenbedingungen mit einem neutralen bzw. einem pH-Wert größer als 7,0 kann ein bandverzinkter Pfahl eine Alternative sein.

Do not position the new batch-galvanized and strip-galvanized posts immediately. Storage outdoors enables an anti-corrosion covering layer to form first. That also offers protection over a sustained period of time after the post has been positioned in the soil. The posts can be exposed to rain but avoid stagnant.

Batch-galvanizing

This involves the individual profiled posts made from machine steel in accordance with EN 10025-2 being galvanized individually in accordance with EN ISO 1461. A complete zinc layer of 70 – 80 μm is formed.

Strip-galvanizing

This involves the steel strip (Machine steel EN 10346) being galvanized before the shaping process, which forms a zinc layer of up to 35 μm. Cut and punched edges are not galvanized, but will however be protected by the surrounding surfaces due to the long-range effect of the cathodic protection. Weatherproof.

Weather-resistant structural steel

Weather-resistant structural steels form a dense barrier layer under the actual layer of rust as a result of weathering. It offers ideal protection against corrosion. Due to their unique weathering resistance and the characteristic patina, these steels are employed in architecture and are ideal for viticulture.
