H4 R is a certain classification from the American Welding Association AWS:
- The H4 means that the hydrogen level in the all weld metals is below 4 ml per 100 g weld metal. This hydrogen level will avoid hydrogen induced cracks.
- The R means that the coating is moisture resistant, which means that the coating is not hygroscopic.
