New exhibition area

greentec steel, our path toward green steel

By 2050, voestalpine aims to produce_CO2-neutralsteel in line with European climate targets. Our new exhibit area shows the ambitious greentec steel project in detail as well as forward-looking technologies and greentec production processes that are currently under development.

Interactive exhibit

The highlight of the new exhibition is an interactive multi-touch table that uses a 65-inch screen to illustrate the individual steps of our journey toward green steel: The first step is a conversion from the coal-based blast furnace route to green-powered electric-arc technology in order to reduce_{the carbon dioxide}emissions by around 30% by 2030.

Another element of the exhibition is a model of the H2Future hydrogen pilot plant that is operation on the Linz site.

The new exhibition area is located in the entrance area of the voestalpine Stahlwelt.
