Informative exhibits

There are four divisions in the voestalpine Group that focus on a wide variety of products, including high-speed rails and 3D printed components for car bodies. Each of the voestalpine divisions has one thing in common in that every voestalpine company manufactures modern and innovative steel products that are showcased in the voestalpine Stahlwelt. One example of an exhibit showcasing voestalpine steel is the actual starter housing of an Ariane rocket.

Informative guided tours

Visitors can use the Stahlwelt visitor app to explore the voestalpine Stahlwelt on their own. We also provide tours that are led by our experienced guides. They take visitors on one-and-a-half-hour tours through the five levels of the voestalpine Stahlwelt and provide general information about the company, steel as a material and the many processing possibilities. Special emphasis is placed on the finished products that are an essential component of the exhibition. 

Exceptional architecture

Standing next to corporate headquarters, the administration building of voestalpine Stahl GmbH and the gasometers, the building of voestalpine Stahlwelt is an integral part of the urban landscape of Linz as an industrial location. The building is shaped like a periscope with an unobstructed view of the works premises and the city of Linz. It is symbolic of the openness found in the voestalpine Group and was designed by Schremmer-Jell, an architectural company based in Linz. The building interior, steel rotunda and mounted tower create a variety of spatial impressions, closed and introverted as well as open and oriented to the outside. 

The inclined elevator made of glass and the vertical conveyor belt containing exhibits are fascinating references to the steel production lines.
