Based at the company\u2019s facility in Oldbury, West Midlands \u2013 complete with a state of the art apprentice training centre, the paid apprenticeship scheme offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, whilst completing an NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations and allowing progression to Level 3.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Giles, Environmental Safety and Training Manager at Metsec commented: \u201cNurturing young talent has always been crucial to the success of our business &#8211; which was reflected in our Express &amp; Star\u2019s Apprentice Employer of the Year and Business is Good for the Black Country Awards in 2014. To date, we have trained 48 apprentices that now make up 14% of our workforce. With a goal of extending this figure to 20% by 2020, we encourage hard-working, enthusiastic candidates with a passion for manufacturing to apply for the programme.
