Best Practice: Van der Lem Groothandel B.V./Lemtrans B.V.

Fast, efficient and sustainable: 1,826 solar modules on the bitumen roof of Van der Lem Groothandel B.V.

Installation of a total of 1,826 solar modules on the roof of Van der Lem Groothandel B.V./Lemtrans B.V. began on 1 September – and the project is already nearing completion. With an expected annual production of around 685,000 kWh, this project sends a strong signal for sustainable energy generation and efficient implementation.

What makes this project special? The combination of speed, efficiency and intelligent planning.

Maximum solar yield thanks to east-west orientation

The iFIX substructure was used in an east-west orientation, which enables optimal use of solar energy throughout the day. Unlike classic south-facing orientations, east-west systems benefit from more consistent electricity production – especially in the morning and evening hours. This ensures better grid integration and higher self-consumption rates.

iFIX on bitumen roof: stability meets speed

The system was mounted on a bitumen roof, which is ideal for flat and low-ballast installations. Over 2,000 iFIX sheets were used for the substructure – proof of the system's scalability and stability. Thanks to the well-thought-out design and tool-free click connections, the entire installation – including the modules and cabling – was completed within a month. An impressive pace that shows how efficiently modern solar projects can be implemented today.
