Plastic Injection Molding

Injection molding is the most common method used to manufacture plastic parts.

The demand for optimized tooling solutions is increasing due to more complex requirements of the different applications (medical parts, consumer goods, automotive, etc.) and increasing use of additives such as flame retardants and glass fibers.

Therefore, it is crucial to choose the correct steel grade for each specific type of mold. Typically the following basic mold material properties must be considered: strength, hardness, toughness, wear resistance, cleanliness, polishability, corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity.

By selecting the right material or conformal cooling, our customers have often improved their productivity by more than 30%.

SCREWS & BARRELS

high pressure die casting

Screws and barrels represent core parts of an injection moulding machine. When they start to wear; the quality of the parts produced will deteriorate and the productivity will be reduced. With our powder metallurgically produced mold steels and optimized heat treatment procedures we set the performance standards in this industry – even when the most corrosive or highly abrasive reinforced plastic resins are processed!
