BÖHLER K340 ISODUR

BÖHLER K340 ISODUR belongs to the group of 8% chromium steels. The electroslag remelting process (ESR) developed by BÖHLER is used in the production of this tool steel. This remelting technology guarantees minimal micro and macro segregation as well as excellent purity and homogeneity of the material. Compared to conventional 12% chromium steels, BÖHLER K340 ISODUR offers significantly better toughness, hardness acceptance and higher adhesive wear resistance. This material is therefore used in almost all cold work applications where tool steels such as 1.2379 are no longer sufficient in terms of adhesive wear resistance and toughness. K340 ISODUR also offers advantages in terms of machinability and reduces the risk of stress cracks when using eroding blocks.
