Plastic Mold Tool Steels are tailored to fit specific plastic production requirements. Plastic Mold Tool Steels are designed to provide high hardness, toughness, thermal conductivity, wear resistance, and excellent polishability.

Plastic molding grade combines properties of low sulphur and sulphur types, through good machinability, good polishability and optimum photo-etching properties. Bath and gas nitriding as well as nitriding are possible.

M268 VMR

BÖHLER M268 VMR is a hardened and tempered plastic mold steel with excellent cleanliness for best polishability. The hardness is constant over the entire cross-section of the steel block, even at large sizes, due to the addition of nickel.

A newly developed maraging steel, which combines the mechanical properties of 1.2709 with the corrosion resistance of 17-4PH. This grade can easily printed without any preheating.
