2010-10-25 |

On Saturday, October 23, 2010, voestalpine Stahlwelt welcomed its 50,000th visitor. The winner of this distinction was treated to a helicopter flight over the plant premises in Linz.

Not even a year after the opening of voestalpine Stahlwelt, the theme park at the voestalpine site in Linz received its 50,000th visitor. The Freytag family from Wiener Neustadt came to voestalpine Stahlwelt as part of a weekend guided tour on the morning of Saturday, October 23, 2010, presented their ticket at the entrance and were immediately surprised by this news.

A more unusual kind of tour of the site awaited this very special guest after the normal voestalpine Stahlwelt tour. Right in front of the building, a helicopter took off for a flight over the plant premises of voestalpine in Linz. While the Freytag family enjoyed this modern-day factory tour high above the voestalpine site, all the other visitors celebrated the event with a class of Prosecco sparkling wine.

“The many uses of steel today are really impressive. It’s hard to believe all the different things steel is capable of in daily life. voestalpine Stahlwelt presents these innumerable possibilities very clearly. And being surprised by a sightseeing flight over the site was a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said the Freytag family from Wiener Neustadt.

Christoph Hain, head of voestalpine Stahlwelt, celebrated with the winners: “voestalpine Stahlwelt has become a must-see tourist attraction in Linz, where visitors can immerse themselves in the world of steel and get to know the voestalpine Group. We are particularly happy about the fact that voestalpine Stahlwelt has become so popular with all groups of visitors – schoolchildren, retired people, clubs, companies and sightseers in Linz.
