On September 20, 2013, voestalpine was awarded the Digital Communication Award in the Corporate Weblog category for the voestalpine WM Blog.

voestalpine-winner-digital-communication-awardInitiated by the Quadriga University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, the award distinguishes outstanding European projects in the field of online communications. Over 600 projects in 38 categories were submitted for the Digital Communication Award (DCA). They were evaluated by a panel of 31 experts from the European PR and communications industry. This was the third year in which the prize has been awarded, and the prize-giving ceremony was held on September 20, 2013.

Award for the voestalpine WM Blog

WM Blogger Schladming 2013voestalpine received the award in the Corporate Weblog category for the voestalpine WM Blog. The blog ran parallel to the winter sporting event of the year, the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2013 in Schladming. voestalpine was an event sponsor, focusing its communications on the digital sphere and on social media. Two blogging ski-enthusiasts were sought-out ahead of the event to report live from the Championships in Schladming: Johanna Holzer and Markus Kerschbamer fed the online community with exciting background stories. Whether it was a visit by the Lipizzaners, an interview with Marcel Hirscher’s service technician, the many chats with world champions including Bode Miller, or the fan club challenge—Johanna and Markus were always in the midst of the action.
