The Paris Air Show in Le Bourget was THE highlight for aerospace companies worldwide. This was also true for the voestalpine companies BÖHLER Edelstahl, BÖHLER Schmiedetechnik, BÖHLER Bleche, Böhler PROFIL and the voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation, who this year appeared together at the show for the first time.

The Paris Air Show is the world’s largest and most important aviation and aerospace exhibition

The Paris Air Show is the world’s largest and most important aviation and aerospace exhibition. This year’s Paris Air Show was a record-breaking event in every way: a total of 2,303 exhibitors (+4% over 2013) from 48 countries, 149,947 experts (+7.6%), 201,637 public visitors (+13.6%) and 4,359 journalists were present at the show (see the Paris Air Show website).

Representatives from the BÖHLER companies Edelstahl, Schmiedetechnik, Bleche and PROFIL, as well as, for the first time, voestalpine RFC from the USA, all shared an exhibition chalet to demonstrate their joint competence as reliable suppliers of premium materials and components to the aerospace industry. The chalet at the edge of the exhibition airfield was a communications hotspot. Three meeting rooms were available for the many discussions with customers, and the terrace offered a stunning view of aircraft taking off and landing. The eye-catching exhibit in front of the chalet was a 400 kg landing flap track manufactured by BÖHLER Schmiedetechnik, an impressive demonstration of the company’s know-how.

Personal contact and trust are essential

The Paris Air Show is a meeting point for the industry’s top decision-makers. Demonstrating presence here is about more than simply projecting a positive image: decisions which form the basis of long-term partnerships are made here in Le Bourget. For example, during the show Böhler succeeded in securing long-term contracts worth EUR 70 million.

"As a technology group, the aerospace industry is an important component in the voestalpine Group's strategic development. The intention is to increase the share of Group revenue generated in the aerospace segment from three to five percent by 2020. "
