With its comprehensive and certified quality management, BÖHLER Schmiedetechnik GmbH & Co KG has made a name for itself in the aerospace industry.
Safety is the top priority in aerospace and the components of an aircraft must be able to withstand extreme stresses. Aircraft manufacturers therefore require top quality and absolute reliability from their suppliers when it comes to products and processes.
Comprehensive quality management
For engine mounts, for example, this means that each individual mount is subjected to precise testing and inspection. And not only the forged parts themselves but also the entire production process, from the input material to the finishing treatment, is specified and certified step by step in a detailed manufacturing plan. This ensures seamless traceability of each individual forged part.
The high quality of the special forged products from BÖHLER is tested and ensured at multiple points: First, this involves the company’s own quality assurance, which does not allow for any compromises where quality is concerned. And second, the customers themselves – that is, aircraft manufacturers (OEMs) – as well as independent national and international auditing companies (TÜV, NADCAP). Only a company that is certified at all levels, as is BÖHLER Schmiedetechnik, will be recognized as a partner by the global aerospace industry.
The latest video from the voestalpine image and brand campaign focuses on engine mounts we produce for aircraft in Kapfenberg, Austria, and shows them being installed in the Airbus A380 of Emirates Airline. An ongoing blog series offers further insight and background information about the product, the areas of application and the market as well as about Hans Freudenthaler from Böhler Schmiedetechnik GmbH & Co KG, the star of the campaign.
New voestalpine corporate design
The voestalpine Group is marking the consistent implementation of its strategy and its changing self-image by updating its visual identity: its transformation from a European steel company to a global technology and capital goods group is now also being mirrored in its corporate design. The new visual identity combines tradition with future expectations, and increasingly symbolizes dynamism and a focus on the future.
