Böhler-Uddeholm France recently opened its eifeler division’s second vacuum surface treatment (PVD process) facility in order to better service its customers in Western France.
On June 24, 2016, Böhler-Uddeholm France S.A.S. celebrated the opening of its eifeler division’s second facility for vacuum surface treatment (PVD process) in Allonnes, close to Le Mans, Sarthe, thereby extending its field of value added service. As a result of this extension, customers in the automotive, aerospace, machining, mechanical workshop and mould making industries of Western France can be more easily supplied with surface treatment systems. Next to its first location in Henriville, Eastern France, Allonnes was chosen by eifeler due to the geographic location and growth prospects of its existing customers. Also, it is easily accessible via the motorway network.
The new plant covers 1,000 m² and integrates units for preparation, quality control and PVD (physical vapour deposition) coating, which allows any kind of request to be processed quickly and efficiently.
On June 24, 2016, the new plant which covers 1.000 m² was ceremoniously opened together with customers as well as local politicians and business representatives. The coating line for vacuum surface treatment was specially designed with local partners.
Production started this May and is expected to ramp up: the facility is equipped for future investments that can lead to growth, both in terms of size and in terms of employee numbers.
"We really enjoyed having this opening in Allonnes. Thanks to all colleagues for the committed work. We are ready for a promising ramp-up of our PVD coating activities."
