voestalpine Böhler Welding Group is well-equipped for the challenges of the future.

Competitive price, good quality and availability, and good technical pre- and after-sales support are considered a must when it comes to welding consumables as well. Where these requirements are concerned, voestalpine Böhler Welding Group is well position for the future. New welding consumables are often developed in close partnership with the customer – promptly and efficiently.

High capacity for innovation

voestalpine Böhler Welding Group has always placed special emphasis on innovation: each year 1.6 percent of the company’s sales revenue is invested in research and development. Cooperative projects with leading industrial firms, universities and research institutions worldwide ensure that the welding consumables will continue to fulfill future requirements. With a new generation of cored wire – namely, high strength and laser-welded seamless cored wire – the voestalpine Böhler Welding Group is once again demonstrating its impressive capacity for innovation.

Powering into the future of oil and gas

voestalpine welding consumablesIn offshore production of oil and gas, innovative welding consumables are in high demand. For facilities on the high seas (offshore platforms and the like), steels being welded include those that are becoming ever lighter and at the same time stronger, such as high-strength cryogenic steels. The less these drilling rigs weigh, the more cost-effectively they can be transported to where they will be operated. Moreover, deep-sea drilling also requires increasingly advanced materials and thus also increasingly advanced welding consumables that withstand the high pressures and low operating temperatures thousands of meters below sea level.

The latest video from the voestalpine image and brand campaign describes the product welding consumables, produced in Italy and shown in the video being sold in Asia and Singapore, the world’s second-most important center for oil and gas after Houston, Texas, in the United States. This spot focuses on welding consumables and therefore makes an important contribution to the energy segment.
