Digitalization is also taking great strides at voestalpine Sadef: the experts in Gits have developed i-Innovate—an online tool which puts cooperation with customers onto a new, digital footing.
There is a long tradition of innovation at Gits, Belgium, so it is no surprise that the profile professionals are also taking a new approach to the digitalization process. i-Innovate is impressive, especially for voestalpine Sadef customers, thanks to its extreme user-friendliness. “This tool allows customers to sketch their profile and then transmit the sketches and all relevant data to us simply and quickly. We then check if the desired profile meets all the necessary mechanical requirements,” says Wouter Vantornout who is responsible for Business Development at voestalpine Sadef.
Strong customer focus
A prototype of the required profile can then be quickly manufactured in Gits using a 3D printer. When it meets customer requirements, production can begin. “i-Innovate allows us to support our customers in the very early stages of developing new profiles. That gives us an advantage over the competition,” says the delighted Managing Director Peter Verbrugge. The IT experts at voestalpine Sadef worked together with external partners for six months to develop i-Innovate. It has been undergoing testing since November 2017, and the first reactions are extremely promising.
New voestalpine corporate design
The voestalpine Group is marking the consistent implementation of its strategy and its changing self-image by updating its visual identity: its transformation from a European steel company to a global technology and capital goods group is now also being mirrored in its corporate design. The new visual identity combines tradition with future expectations, and increasingly symbolizes dynamism and a focus on the future.
