Not only the facts and figures of corporate responsibility at our company, but also the Gold Seal recently awarded to voestalpine by EcoVadis, are testaments to the sustainable activities as well as ecological and social responsibility of the voestalpine Group.

The voestalpine Group was awarded the Gold Seal, which is the highest distinction a company can achieve when being rated by EcoVadis. This places voestalpine among the top 4% of all companies in the Manufacture of basic iron and steel category and among the top 5% of all companies rated as Gold Status by EcoVadis.

In addition, the sustainability rating of voestalpine was raised in September 2017 by MSCI ESG Research to Category A. One of the factors that contributed to this rating, among other things, was the strong increase in the areas of sustainable procurement, health & safety and environmental issues. Ratings of this type are essential to important decision-making processes, especially for customers, but also analysts and investors.

Summit meeting with focus on sustainability

voestalpine is hosting the Austrian CSR Day, which is taking place today on 11 October 2017 at voestalpine Stahlwelt in Linz. This year’s theme is Better Together—Maintaining successful partnerships. Roughly 300 participants from inside and outside the company are meeting to discuss current CSR topics such as global sustainable development goals (SDGs).

CEO Wolfgang Eder will join Ursula Simacek (President of respACT) to officially open the meeting and speak about the relationships between sustainability and strategic partnerships.
