voestalpine Krems Finaltechnik GmbH realizes high bay warehousing projects worldwide, as well as constructing the voestalpine open space in Linz.
voestalpine Krems Finaltechnik GmbH, based in Krems, Lower Austria, manufactures sophisticated product solutions in the storage technology sector (high bay warehouses and system racks) which are used worldwide. Krems employs a staff of 150 who realize around 25 high bay warehousing projects each year.
The largest high bay warehouse to date was constructed in Germany for a sports article manufacturer. It has a steel construction weight of 11,000 tons, a length of 120 m, width of 100 m, and a height of 37 m. You could house New York’s Guggenheim Museum almost five times over in this high bay warehouse!
The highest high bay warehouse ever built by voestalpine Krems Finaltechnik GmbH is 47 m in height – equivalent to 32 VW Golfs stacked one on top of the other. The longest high bay warehouse constructed to date is 360 m in length, or around 3.5 football pitches.
Unique ‘high bay warehouse’ – the voestalpine open space
The open steel structure of the voestalpine open space in Linz will also be realized by voestalpine Krems Finaltechnik GmbH. This new cultural and event space will be constructed using systems normally used in high bay warehousing projects – and all floating at 25 m above the ground. voestalpine Krems Finaltechnik will install a total of 120 tons of steel and 500 m² of grating. This is the only project of its type in the world, and is impressive evidence of voestalpine competence in this area.
