The Ennskraftwerke AG is refurbishing its power plant in St. Pantaleon, allowing it to significantly increase its power output. voestalpine Giesserei Traisen GmbH is serving both as a development partner, and a supplier of high-performance rotor discs for the plant’s new turbines.

The extra electricity produced by the St. Pantaleon plant is sufficient to power a total of 1,200 households, representing a significant contribution to climate protection.

The result of excellent cooperation

Starting in September 2020, voestalpine is cooperating with the Voith Hydro company on this major project. Together, the two companies have optimized the final product in terms of both cost and production. It is due to this successful development partnership that the partners were chosen for the project in the face of strong competition.

A one-stop solution

This major project is scheduled for completion by spring 2023. The new rotor discs cast by voestalpine Giesserei Traisen GmbH will also play a role in enabling the plant at St. Pantaleon to generate more green electricity. The complete refurbishment also includes upgrades to the two generators, as well as the entire control technology and power transmission. The refurbishment benefits the local economy and, above all, our environment.
