voestalpine Rotec Inc. has made a name for itself with its precision-cut tube lengths and its highly complex steel and aluminium components. But more than this: the company is both active in the region and socially involved.

In October 2013, the voestalpine company based in Lafayette, USA, decided to support the organization United Way of Greater Lafayette. Its goal for the 2013/14 business year was to provide the charitable NGO with USD 10,000. Thanks to donations from business partners, this aim was met and even exceeded – at the final count USD 10,630 had been raised. The target for this year’s donation has been set higher, at USD 15,000 to support United Way in its mission of connecting people and organizations in the Lafayette area in order to create sustainable improvements in the areas of education, income, and health.

"We see ourselves as part of the community and act accordingly."
Andrew Ball, Managing Director of voestalpine Rotec Inc.

Quite apart from financial donations, the HR manager and HR coordinator at voestalpine Rotec Inc. have also given their own time and energy: together with a team from Caterpillar, they painted a regional childcare facility for children of low-income parents. Although part of a global Group, this demonstrates the extent to which the company sees itself as a regional player and part of the local community. In addition, in March 2014, the market leading producer of precision-cut lengths also donated USD 5,000 to the Tippecanoe School Corporation. Like voestalpine Rotec Inc. itself, one of the organization’s school buildings was badly damaged by a tornado in November 2013. The donation will help with the lengthy and complicated repairs.
