High Mobility Pool 2011 – Adalbert Banyai in the spotlight

Thomas Lindenhofer

Two years of international projects all around the globe have given Adalbert Banyai a wealth of useful experience for his next tasks in the voestalpine Group.

Der High Mobility Pool 2011 – Adalbert Banyai im Porträt„Being part of the High Mobility Pool is a unique experience for any young professional. Working for voestalpine is an extraordinary career opportunity. When you take those ingredients and combine them with the chance to work in a variety of positions within the company and travelling around the world, you get a wining formula that one simply could not refuse. My first project will take me to South America, where I shall be conducting a market research for BÖHLER-UDDEHOLM Precision Strip. I am extremely excited about this opportunity and confident that it is just the beginning of a long-term partnership.,” commented Adalbert Banyai in 2011 after winning a place in the Assessment Center over the last of the more than 300 international applicants. Originally from Romania, he studied management and marketing in Bucharest and completed his master’s degree at the University of Buckingham in England. Over the next two years, Georg Heckmann, Managing Director of voestalpine Eurostahl GmbH, stood by his side as his mentor and gave him practical advice and tips.

“Throughout the High Mobility Pool I worked on 5 major projects with several companies, in more than 9 countries and on 3 different continents. I have been assigned tasks ranging from market development to logistics, purchasing to SAP implementation. I have experienced one of the fastest changing environments, continuously learning and adapting at a rapid pace to new working places, new people, new tasks and new challenges. Last but not least, the race to successfully deliver results and accomplish goals has brought ups and downs and a fair share of wrinkles of wisdom on my forehead. I could safely say, it almost feels like undergoing 5 different career changes in a time period of just a little over 2 years. The HMP is a program that packs a power pill of professional experience and one that I am very proud to have been part of,” summed up Adalbert Banyai.
