Since November 2017 I started my trainee program with the voestalpine Automotive Components Cold Stamping and at the moment I am working in Dettingen. After I have successfully completed my Masters in Industrial Engineering and Management I decided to apply and start for a trainee program in project management at voestalpine Automotive Components Cold Stamping, since the program is in many ways an ideal career entry. Already during the application process and also especially during the introduction week was very well structured and organized. The provision of the accommodation, the introduction to the team of the project management department in the Dettingen plant and a visit to the voestalpine headquarter n Linz, showed me that the company has serious means with the ‚greenhorns from university‘. Also with this introduction some potential headach about the job start can be taken away. The next step was the introduction to the job. My task in Dettingen is an analysis on agile project management. I have the possibility to work self-determined but because of a great coaching and mentoring through my advisor and help from the team I am supported at any time, if needed. Working on with the project team gave me the opportunity to get to know not just my department, but the whole company, from the production to the management board. After six moths in Dettingen I will change to the plant in Nagold and after that I would like to continue my traineeship in an abroad location in China, Mexico or maybe in South Africa. The trainee program with mentoring system and multiple locations is an optimal career entry, in my opinion. You have the possibility of getting to know processes, interfaces and structures of a big company with worldwide networks. That is the ideal stepping stone from the theory to practice in the company and for the future career.
