“The impact of innovation“ was the motto of voestalpine this year at the bauma, which is the world’s largest trade fair in the field of construction machinery. More than 620,000 visitors had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest product innovations at the voestalpine booth.

This year's bauma was all about sustainable and digital solutions. Digitization is also a megatrend in the construction machinery industry, and this was the area of expertise where voestalpine was especially able to inspire customers with eye-opening innovations. In an augmented reality setting specially developed for the fair, a large number of visitors were able to virtually discover the high-tech solutions of voestalpine in a very impressive way.

"Become a smart welder" was the motto of the second trade-fair highlight, in which the voestalpine Welding Calculator was presented to interested users. The voestalpine Welding Calculator app offers users the possibility of performing extremely complex and time-consuming calculations required for welding processes. The calculations are completed within a very short time and at the push of a button.

Digital highlights are exciting and important, but the steel solutions are still the ones reserved for the really hard work. In the areas of machine components and materials, voestalpine presented some very important new developments. Consistent further development and continual optimization have led to more light-weight and robust materials, making them much more cost-efficient. Visitors were able to see this at many of the exhibits on display, the highlights of which included newly developed cabin profiles from voestalpine partners Sadef and Krems and a performance-optimized sheet pile wall made by Profilafroid. In addition to the keen interest shown at the bauma, the business results were also pleasing. “We are particularly satisfied with bauma 2019. International interest was at a very high level, and that really says a lot about the quality of our products," says Dominique Dumanski, Product Manager at voestalpine. As in years past, voestalpine once again provided delicious Austrian delicacies and warm hospitality to provide visitors with an opportunity to rest from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair. Amid the high-tech products, the flood of innovation and the strong drive in the industry to redefine the future, many guests enjoyed the typical Austrian feeling in a relaxed atmosphere.
