The spring supported setting device is a setting support system for switches. It moves the switch to its final position, stabilizes and fastens it.

Generally, the spring supported setting device is the rear setting element in a switch device.During the setting movement which is not initiated by the spring operated setting device it is put into action by the moving switchblades. The spring acts as an energy accumulator during the first part of the setting movement, during the second setting phase, the spring force is used to move both switchblades to their final positions.
The closed switchblade is held securely against the stock rail and the open switchblade is held and stabilized in its position.
