VAE Sofia -leading partner for turnouts, turnout components and fastening materials

VAE Sofia has been founded in 1997 as a Joint Venture between VAE Ltd and the Bulgarian State Railway Company (now NRIC). Since 1956 nearly all turnouts of the Bulgarian rail net have been produced with components of the VAE group in VAE Sofia plant.

With the world leading know-how of VAE Ltd. the production location of VAE Sofia has been built up on European standard during the last years. VAE Sofia with its design department is directly linked to the design department of VAE Ltd in Zeltweg and VAE Apcarom in Romania. The design is made and released under the lead management of VAE Ltd. This guarantees the successful development of the technical solutions.

The Quality Management System EN ISO 9000:2000 is implemented.

The turnouts of VAE Sofia are pre-assembled at the plant and are delivered on site with pre-assembled switch devices.This makes sure that assembling in the track can be quickly carried out - just in time and ensures high track availability.
