Advantages
- Particularly suitable for metros and commuter traffic as well as for mixed operation of tramways and standard-gauge railways (preferred field of use)
- As the movable part (wing rail) is in front of the point of the crossing, this design is very suitable for turnouts with small radii and single cross-overs (short lengths of the turnouts)
- Highest possible service life because there are no impacts in the overrunning area
- No check rails required
- Can be thermite welded into the track
