HYDROSTAR®
The changing needs of railways today have initiated the development of an advanced combined switch operating, locking and monitoring system. Due to our long experience in the field of turnout manufacture we succeeded in meeting these new demands of the railways. The result is the hydraulic switch operating system HYDROSTAR®, which can be used for switch devices and movable point crossings.
When developing this innovative setting system we considered all requirements with respect to reliability, longer intervals between inspections with at the same time increased maintenance comfort, environmental friendliness and low noise. Our goal of economic efficiency was met as well (minimized life cycle costs).
All this was achieved by adopting a new course. We no longer used mechanical components but hydraulics and so this system can be installed in conventional and high-speed lines (up to 12 setting points).
Meeting these requirements is guaranteed even if only limited space is available for installation.
The compact, modular design was a precondition for the completely pre-assembled "plug and play turnout" which can be delivered to the installation site just in time.
Another advantage of the modular and low-maintenance design is that inventory can be kept low and maintenance intervals be increased as well as the duration of inspections be shortened.
In line with our reputation of being a reliable partner we offer our customers a comprehensive service package with regard to installation, training of maintenance personnel as well as support during maintenance.
VAE - a reliable and competent partner for the future, for the means of transport of the future.
Advantages and Characteristics
- Hollow steel sleepers make machine tamping of the switch device possible
- Modular structure allows replacement in short time and reduces storage of spare parts
- One drive unit for synchronous setting of all setting points of the switch device or the movable point crossing for turnouts in standard-speed and high-speed lines reduces costs for signalling
- Due to complete encapsulation, the system requires little maintenance with long inspection intervals
- Easy to install, maintain and repair because of functional units in lightweight construction with quick locking systems for easy handling by the operating staff
- No-play system – active clamping force between tongue and stock rails, spring deflection of impact shocks
- Stroke limit can be adjusted within a wide range (overload at one setting point leads to stopping of the setting movement of the complete system)
- No strain on the vibrating superstructure by one-sided loads
- Low-noise switching and overrunning
- No tensions in the system even with high temperature fluctuations – therefore no need for adjustment
- Makes the use of turnouts in tunnels or laying on concrete slabs easier because of its favourable interfaces and dimensions
