HRS Locking System

Tongue attachment of HRS Lock

The modern turnout locking system of BWG guarantees a safe, non-positive clamping of switch and stock rail of a turnout and at the same time it holds down the closed switch.

The setting principle of the HRS locking system, namely lifting – rolling – lowering – locking, can be used for all common rail profiles both in switch devices and in movable crossings.

HRS Lock in a high-speed switch device
A special link motion of the clamp in the throw bar controls the unlocking, moving and locking actions of the lock.
The design of the clamp makes it possible that the switchblade is clamped to the stock rail both in horizontal and vertical directions.
This also guarantees that the switchblade and the stock rail have the same height even in case of elastic subsidence of the stock rail.
The tongue attachment BKL 80 (please also refer to our product information BKL 61) is designed such that a correct setting movement is ensured even if the switchblade moves +/- 40 mm relative to the stock rail.
All setting movements are carried out via low-maintenance rollers; there are no sliding components which require high maintenance.

The HRS locking system can be used for all common rail profiles both in switch devices and movable crossings.

The HRS locking system is state-of-the-art in high-speed lines, but it is also commonly used and proven for all other fields of application. Because of its modular design, it can be easily retrofitted.

Advantages

  • Non-positive clamping of switchblade and stock rail in horizontal and vertical directions
  • Can be used in ballasted track and on concrete slab
  • Requires low maintenance because of its pre-lubricated rollers and BKL 80

  • Considerable longer intervals between maintenance are possible
  • Quick amortization
  • High availability
  • High quality
