Transition Rail

Forged and welded transition rails are used to connect tracks with different rail sections. The higher rail section is forged at one end to match the height of the lower rail section.

Advantages

  • Higher reliability than bolting of different rail sections with compromise fishplates
  • Weldable into the continuously welded track
  • Electrically flash-butt welded or manually shop-welded and therefore more reliable than thermite welding of different rail sections in the track
  • Wear resistant transition area

Technical characteristics:

Material grades All standard rail materials
Weld  If the difference between the rail sections to be connected is not too high, the joint weld is done by flash-butt welding
