New API 5CT 10th Edition
Preparations for the latest edition of API 5 CT are in full swing. voestalpine Tubulars will implement the latest version of the specification in two steps.
- All orders received as of February 1, 2019 will be technically reviewed and delivered acc. to API 5 CT 10th Edition, even though you may have received our offer before that date. Your sales contact will be able to provide detailed information.
New orders acc. to API 5 CT 9th Edition can only be produced up to 30 June, 2019. After that date these orders cannot be certified acc. to API 5 CT anymore and the material will not bear an API monogram.
- As of July 1, 2019 all orders will be delivered acc. to API 5 CT 10th Edition. In case your order was placed before February 1, 2019 but will be delivered after June 30, 2019 your sales representative will get in contact with you to discuss appropriate steps to convert your order.
- Coupling OD’s will change as follows:
- 4-1/2” pipe: 127.00 mm --> 133.35 mm (5 inch --> 5.25 inch)
- 5” pipe: 141.30 mm --> 147.32 mm (5.56 inch --> 5.8 inch)
- 5-1/2” pipe: 153.67 mm --> 160.02 mm (6.05 inch --> 6.3 inch)
- New requirements for grade N80-1 material will be in effect immediately (mandatory NDT + Charpy impact testing)
- VAroughneck couplings will follow the API 5 CT requirements.
A new catalog is going to be launched after July 1, 2019.
Performance properties as our Proprietary Grades Catalog will be changed accordingly.
