Business Opportunities

Maximizing the Project’s local content and providing opportunities for local companies is a cornerstone for achieving voestalpine’s goal of becoming a local company.

We believe in the communities where we work and live and ensure, through our contract and procurement procedures, that local companies are treated equitably in bid processes. Our goal is to create a solid network of local partners which comply with voestalpine’s demanding qualification requirements and that add value to the region.

The successful execution of a project this size and complexity requires highly experienced and reliable partners. That’s why voestalpine has teamed up with CH2MHill, one of the most capable engineering firms in the US.
CH2MHill manages the Project’s engineering, procurement and construction activities.

Procurement activities have started in fall 2013. RFPs will be issued in the following categories:

  • WP-E21: Site Security System
  • WP-E32: Lightning Protection
