special exhibit: Texas

03 November 2016

voestalpine goes Texas - now at voestalpine Stahlwelt, Linz-Austria

New special exhibit open since 3 November 2016
voestalpine Stahlwelt will be showcasing one of the most fascinating industrial projects of the world: the new HBI production plant in Corpus Christi, Texas. The new high-tech production facility of voestalpine makes iron-ore pellets into hot-briquetted iron (HBI). What is HBI? What is sponge iron? Why is this product in such high demand in Europe and North America? What significance does the works have for voestalpine? Why did the company invest 550 million euros in Corpus Christi? The special exhibit will answer all of these questions, and more.

360° flight above the production plant
A very special feature of this exhibit is a 360° flight above the plant in Corpus Christi. Wearing virtual-reality glasses, guests are given a unique opportunity and exclusive view of the works. The view from the 137-meter-high reduction tower is especially fascinating. After taking this high-altitude journey, everyone is welcome at Stahlwelt-lounge on the ground floor of voestalpine Stahlwelt.

Entrance to the special exhibit is free of charge.
