Quality management

The quality management system of voestalpine Stahl Donawitz has been certified according to the international Standard ISO 9001:2000 since 1994. It is an essential part of the activities of voestalpine Stahl Donawitz to safeguard maximum quality and to improve and further develop the company.

Re-certification of the integrated management according to the Standards ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and the EMAS II directive by the certification company Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance took place from 14th to 16th November 2005. The certificates certify that a quality and environmental management system as stipulated by the above mentioned standards is established and also applied in the company. The validity of the certificates is three years after which renewed re-certification takes place.

Qualified procedures for the performance processes are established throughout the company. Continuous improvement is measured against key benchmarks, the establishment of objectives and verification of achievement.

The quality management system is depicted in an integrated management system jointly with the environmental management and industrial safety. Every year, the effectiveness of the management system is assessed by the company management in form of a management review.
