The Technical Service Business Area offers technical services and ensures the supply of energy at the Linz location. The expertise and know-how of our employees are focussed on the high demands on continuous steel production and processing at voestalpine Stahl GmbH.

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities and products

Technical Services includes all the responsibilities and processes in the areas of maintenance, engineering, technical testing, as well as energy generation and distribution. These responsibilities cover a wide variety of products and services in many different areas. The services are performed mainly for different departments at voestalpine Stahl GmbH and the company subsidiaries at the Linz location. Selected services are performed for a number of other external companies.

Employees

High demands are met by the technical expertise of the roughly 1,600 employees. The majority of the employees have completed a technical or engineering degree at an institution of higher education. Some of the employees are required to be very flexible with their general time and regular working hours. Close cooperation with our customers in the production operations for the success of the entire corporate group is the foundation for our activities.

Maintenance, energy/utilities, services

Technical Services at voestalpine Stahl GmbH was founded as a result of the various needs in the production facilities at the Linz location. The department has become a service centre that meets the demands of the highest quality standards.

Plant expansions and new technologies in the production facilities make it necessary for the Technical Services department (B4) to continually train employees in new technologies and to create new services.

Service Sales

Service Sales is the interface at voestalpine Stahl GmbH between internal departments and companies that belong to the corporate group or external customers.

These services include the production of various spare parts, special electrical and mechanical system components, repair and assembly activities, training seminars, measurements and technical consultation in the area of metallurgical engineering. With all our sales activities bundled into one single service sales organisation, the customer has a competent contact partner for all technical services offered by the company.
