voestalpine at JKU Career Day

The Career Day took place on 26 November from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Every year, the Career Day provides students with an opportunity to get to know potential employers. More than 90 companies presented themselves to roughly 3000 students and graduates. The organizers of the annual Career Day is the Kepler Society, which is the alumni club and career center at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz.

The objective of voestalpine during the day was to present itself, particularly to technically oriented students, as an attractive employer. This goal was met, and the crowd of visitors was big. Approximately 230 interested students and graduates were provided with information at the voestalpine stand. About of this number were technical students in the fields of IT systems, information management, technical physics, chemistry and mechatronics. The other half were studying economy or law. Selected contact persons from the specialist departments of the voestalpine Steel Division, group-IT and Personal Services GmbH were there to answer questions about internships and current job openings.

The Group stand was a real attention getter. The students were fascinated, and the Federal Minister of Justice, Wolfgang Brandstätter, and University Director Richard Hagelauer took the voestalpine stand as an opportunity for great photos.
