Samba of Skills in Sao Paulo

The competition takes place every two years. This year, over 1000 competitors from 70 countries and 50 professional areas will participate in the event.

Lukas Mayr and Michael Furtlehner will pit themselves against colleagues from around the world in the field of Mechatronics. Manual Peheim will give a tough challenge to his competitors in Industrial Control. All three contestants have completed an apprenticeship at the voestalpine Stahl GmbH. They are now preparing intensively for extended periods at the Vocational Education and Training Centre of the voestalpine Steel Division.

Their departure for South America is scheduled for 6 August. To become acclimatized before heading to the competition on 10 August, the three young technical workers will spend a few days in Rio de Janeiro.

In total, 36 young men and women who qualified during the national competition will be sent to Brazil by SkillsAustria, an organization of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
