Kickoff for WorldSkills 2017
The team seminar at the voestalpine training center in Linz served as the kickoff for preparations for the 44th WorldSkills championships to be held in Abu Dhabi in October 2017. Austria will be represented by a total of 4 experts, including three voestalpine apprentices.
The preparatory activities were kicked off for the entire Austrian team on 2 and 3 March in the voestalpine training center. Seven women and 33 men got to know each other and began their personal preparation. An experts is being assigned to each team specialist and will support each of the participants from a professional perspective in preparing for the challenges expected at the competition. Georg Wahlmüller (plant electrical systems), Julian Aigner and Jürgen Anzinger (mechatronics) will be competing for medals.
The talented apprentices qualified for the competition by winning national titles in November 2016. They have already proven their skills and talents on an international scale. Their preparations for WorldSkills 2017 not only serves as a means to prepare themselves for the competition, but they also gain a lot of relevant practical expertise during the process.
The apprentices have a lot of training to do before they arrive in Abu Dhabi on 9 October. We wish our participating apprentices all the best for their preparatory activities and are already very proud of them.
