Graduates of technical colleges are in high demand, not only in the voestalpine Steel Division. On 8 February, Day of the Economy, around 40 high-tech companies from Upper Austria wooed highly qualified young talent at the Wels Technical College.

The voestalpine Steel Division presents itself once a year to future graduates of the Wels Technical College and informs young talent about interesting and diversified development paths. Those in their fourth and fifth years are especially interested in internships and diploma projects.

The spectrum at the technical college in Wels includes many different fields of expertise: chemical engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, mechanical engineering and mechatronics.

voestalpine is known here as an attractive employer. Some of the IT students were surprised that a steelmaking company would be hiring so many employees from their field of study.

Students working on their diploma projects at voestalpine also visited the stand. They know about the excellent reputation that voestalpine enjoys because of the way it deals with its employees. The students enjoy getting together in such as atmosphere to talk about their occupations. Once again, the event was a successful career fair that answered many questions and provided a means of networking for people interested in future research and development projects.
