A tower is taking shape

The direct reduction tower of the HBI plant of voestalpine Texas LLC in Corpus Christi, USA is currently under construction and has already reached a height of 220 feet.

Approximately 970 people are currently working at the construction site situated near Corpus Christi, TX. There has been much noticeable construction progress. The direct reduction tower, which is the centerpiece of the plant, has already reached a height of 220 ft (67 m). Accordingly, it is already taller than the voestalpine Stahlwelt (100 ft / 30 m) and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. When the tower reaches its final construction height of 450 ft (137 m), it will be a new skyscraper in the region of Corpus Christi that is taller than the New Cathedral in Linz, Austria (440 ft / 134 m) and just as tall as St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, Austria.

There also has been significant construction progress in the area of the port, where the quay wall has already been completed.
