Each year, the procurement of production plants, services and materials is an important way of exerting substantial influence on the costs and sustainable operating results. For this reason we have implemented a central steering committee who is responsible for coordinating and steering all purchasing activities within the Division. This has made it possible for us to bundle our purchasing transactions and achieve synergistic effects for the benefit of our customers. The focus has always been on optimization of overall costs.
Our mission
The Purchasing department carries out all conventional procurement activities, from procurement market research to bid invitations and solicitation of quotations to order processing (see figure Prozess Zukauf).
Our organization
Division Purchasing belongs to the Financial Department of voestalpine Stahl GmbH and consists of the following departments:
1. Production plants, vehicles, IT and technical operating resources
2. Construction, services, media and mechanical components
3. Classification, data record management and standardization
4. International procurement market research, further development of purchasing strategies and internal communication within the Division
Our purchasing coordination
Centralized coordination of our planned procurement activities is carried out by our purchasing coordinators. They are a link between us and the customers, the production departments of voestalpine Stahl GmbH and the respective subsidiary companies. They forward requests, complaints and suggestions to us and inform the operating centers of new developments, guidelines and changes to purchasing department procedures.
