Global Employment – international recruitment to the voestalpine group
In recent years voestalpine has gradually developed into a “global player”. As a result of its on-going growth policy voestalpine now offers attractive recruitment opportunities in a total of 60 countries all over the world. The integration of new group companies, learning about new ways of seeing and thinking about problems, and the exchange of best practices are intended to produce synergies, and indeed to ensure that voestalpine’s future role in the world market is also outstanding.
So that justice can be done to such high aspirations national frontiers must not constitute barriers of any kind. All this entails a consistent and continual increase in the deployment of personnel across national borders and at all levels of the organisation, whether such assignments are seen as milestones in careers, as project-related work for specific periods of time, or “merely” out of interest in other cultures and ways of thinking.
voestalpine is, of course, well aware that all sorts of questions must precede such international staff assignments, and that the answers to them are very important for the employees concerned and their families, as well as for the decision to make such an international assignment in itself. Thus a working party, under the project title “Global Employment”, is currently entrusted with establishing fundamental underlying conditions for international staff assignments, the results of which are intended to form the basis for a group expatriate policy, which would also apply all over the world. The main focus of this is intended to be on the most important aspects for employees, with particular attention being given to the safeguarding of their rights in terms of social security/insurance law, insurance cover for their dependants, support in connection with family relocation, and indeed relevant criteria for fair determination of remuneration.
