Cold drawn profiles

Profiles
The application of profiles is advantageous if the tube has to cover special technical criteria:

dimensional accuracy for inner/ outer diameter
smooth surface and targeted mechanical characteristics
high strength.

Manufacturing programme

The voestalpine Präzsirohrtechnik delivers cold drawn profiles in the following steel grades and conditions:

Steel grades
all low alloyed qualities of structural steel, case-hardened and heat-treated steel, nitrieded steel, fine grain grades, high-temperatured steels - as
St30 - St52, CK10, CK22, 15Cr3, 2OMnCr5, 25CrMo4, 42CrMo4, Cf53, 50CrV4, 13CrMo44, 34CrAlMo5, 10Ni14, StE240- StE500

Delivery conditions

• cold finished, hard (BK)
No heat treatment following final cold finishing. The tubes can thererfore only be formed to a limited extent

• cold finished, soft (BKW
After final heat treatment the tubes are cold drawn to a slight degree. If further processed properly the tubes can be cold formed within certain limits (e.g. bending, expanding)

• cold finished and stress relieved (BKS)
Following final cold finishing the tubes are heat treated at 550°-620°C. Due to the reduction in internal stress the tube can be formed or machined within certain limits if further processed properly.

• annealed (GBK)
After final cold finishing the tubes are annealed in an inert atmosphere.

• normalised (NBK)
Following the final cold finishing process the tubes are annealed in an inert atmosphere above teh upper transformation point.

• tempered (V)
The final condition is defined as heat treated for special mechanical and technological properties.
