Rotational forming

The voestalpine Rotec GmbH & CoKG rotational forming enables to break new ground in the production of axially symetrical parts out of steel. The process offers a wide range of application and in close co-operation with the customers improved technical and economical solutions

Using voestalpine Rotec GmbH & CoKG rotational forming it is possible to form, cut and heat up the part in only one set up. Wall thickness and contours can be controlled very accurately. Various closures from thin-walled tubing without using any mandrel inside can be formed as well.

The process is characterised by:

• chipless forming and net shape on CNC machines in only one setup
• process-integrated heating of the part
• processing tubes (seamless or welded) made of almost any metal: stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium alloys, copper alloys and non-ferrous metals

Tubes with the following dimensions can be processed:

• material thickness from 0,6 to 15mm
• diameter up to 200mm
• length up to 6m
