Technologies of voestalpine Elmsteel Group

Elmsteel is dedicated to meeting customer demands, however complex they may be. The company began streamlining manufacturing processes at an early stage by creating individual production cells. This concept enables production times to be optimised and reduces the logistics involved to a minimum. The staff monitor the entire manufacturing process in the individual production cells and can therefore cater for customer demands more efficiently.

CUTTING
Elmsteel has a number of mechanical cutting lines. Cutting, washing and end machining operations are usually performed on the same machine to increase productivity. In house saw blade grinding ensures high quality operations.

ENDMACHINING
After the tubes have been cut to precision lengths, there are a number of options for finishing the ends. Whether deburred or with an exactly defined chamfer, we select the optimum machining process for the customer

LASER CUTTING
Our laser lines have opened up a completely new dimension in cutting. While mechanical cutting and sawing machines can only cut in straight lines, this machine can cut contours. This is a great asset, especially when curved or angled tubes have to be welded to each other.

Laser technology also replaces punching and milling operations giving burr free, high precision results with the advantage of being able to perform several cutting operations in one pass.

PRESSING
Elmsteel has presses for various tube dimensions. Here precision cut-off and chamfered tubes are processed. Our customers use these shaped parts as tube components.

As our parts are often used in safety applications, such as brake and steering systems, extreme precision and stringent quality control are imperative at every production stage.
