More than 1,500 employees and their families were welcomed to the first "Green Family Day" at the voestalpine-Railway Systems site in Zeltweg on 25 June 2022. From driver safety training for e-bikes to the presentation of "voestalpine goes green" measures, a great day was in store for the voestalpine families.

With many measures, voestalpine Turnout Technology Zeltweg demonstrates that professional and family responsibility are equally important and make a significant contribution to sustainable successful economic development. The voestalpine employee event "Green Family Day" was a special highlight.

Varied program for young & old

From the fire department to guided tours and a food truck. There were many stations and opportunities to find out about occupational health management (OHM) in the company and to test bicycles and e-bikes; face painting for children, a bouncy castle and various handicraft activities ensured that the youngest visitors were in high spirits. In short, you could spend a varied and stimulating day with your family and get interesting information "delivered" at the same time: Emergency services such as fire department, rescue and police gave insights into their daily work as well as into the skills of their four-legged partners.

The guests were also well catered for in culinary terms - regional delicacies, freshly prepared in the food trucks, were enjoyed, while the voestalpine works band and the "Coconuts" band provided the background music.

The company's apprentices were also involved: Apprentices provided an insight into "their" Future Zone and made personalized key rings in the form of a rail profile for the visitors to remember the "Green Family Day".  The organizing committee was delighted with the positive response from motivated employees.

Find some impressions here:

I was at the Green Family Day with my mom, my dad - he works in costing - and my grandma. They had come up with a lot of cool things for kids, too: I particularly liked the opportunity to zoom around the plant site on an electric scooter, as well as the mountain rescue vehicle, which we took for a spin a few times. I was impressed by the large halls and the size of the company during the interesting guided tour, and I will especially remember the huge 'Flex', as well as the information that such a large rail can be 'bent' so easily.

A great feedback on the 1st "Green Family Day" from a young visitor, Nico Moharitsch, 10 years old

We were pleased to be able to make a contribution as well. Our 'Future Zone' with all the digital possibilities, including 3D printing, provides good insights into our future-oriented training. I hope that this day was also successful in terms of our 'successors'! In any case, it was important for us to be able to motivate many with our information and experiences that a professional future at voestalpine makes absolute sense.
