Product acceptance IRJ repair system: long-term end post enhancements now also possible in Britain

2 April 2020 |

Thanks to the efforts made by our English partner Hird Rail Development (HRD), Network Rail has recently completed the product acceptance for our End Post Enhancement system.

This was not an easy ride: for a period of six months, the condition of 10 repaired glued insulated rail joints was incessantly scrutinized. It took multiple checks and reports to obtain the final acceptance. Read below what was required to achieve this result.

Keep calm and carry on

Network Rail encountered huge problems with lipping. Maintenance crews had to make repairs repeatedly; sometimes even every other week. Madness! The test, conducted nearby HRD’s business premises in Doncaster, had to prove if our repair system was actually able to offer a long-term solution rather than a quick fix for just a brief period of time.

During the test period, HRD gave its maintenance workers ample opportunity to get to know the system. After a few months, they, too, were enthusiastic about the results. The correct application of the system significantly prolongs the lifespan of the IRJ and makes two-weekly maintenance a thing of the past.

The world-wide scope of Network Rail

Apart from the fact that Network Rail is Britain’s national network operator, the company also provides consultancy services and shares its knowledge with multiple network administrators all over the world. It would be very exciting if they could spread the message of their positive experiences with our repair system.

What is next?

The coming months, HRD’s team will visit all maintenance locations in Britain to explain the practical ins and outs of the system and make sure that everybody involved knows exactly how to apply products correctly.

We believe it is vitally important that the teams are shown how to perform the enhancement correctly, a process familiarization session will be delivered to all users of the kit. To book a demonstration and process familiarization session, simply call our office.
