The Management Board of voestalpine AG has decided that, as of April 1, Leander Ahorner will join the Management Board of the Metal Forming Division where he will head up the Automotive Components Business Unit. His position to date as head of the Precision Strip Group will in future be filled by the current CFO, Richard Langwieser.
Leander Ahorner joined the Group in 2000, as a technical director. Several important projects were realized under his leadership including the investment in Europe′s most advanced cold rolling mill which began operating in Kematen, Lower Austria, in 2013. He was also responsible for building up voestalpine Precision Strip AB and other sales companies in Spain, the USA, Mexico and China, as well as the recent acquisition of Wickeder Steel in the USA.
The new technical director will be Stefan Punz, formerly assistant to the management. He will now be responsible for production, technology, integrated management systems, R&D, logistics and purchasing. Consequently, the future management team will consist of Richard Langwieser, Franz Maxera and Stefan Punz.
