voestalpine Plastics Solutions has 19 compression moulding machines with compression forces from 200 tonnes to 2500 tonnes. With these compression moulding machines very strong and ingenious products are produced. Inline quality control checks are used to guarantee excellent quality output.

The materials processed by compression moulding at voestalpine Plastics Solutions are Glass Mat reinforced Thermoplastics (GMT), Direct Long Fibre Thermoplastics (D-LFT) and Sheet Moulding Compound (SMC).
Through years of experience in compression moulding and continuous innovation voestalpine Plastics Solutions developed new technologies.
One of these technologies is EASI (Energy Absorption, Safety and Integrity). EASI consists of GMT reinforced with steel cords, which the advantages of composites combine with the ductility of steel. At the moment EASI is used in bumper beams, but it also has a lot of potential in other applications.
PISA is another recently developed technology. PISA stands for Polynorm Inmoulded Sound Absorber. In this technology an acoustic absorber is integrated into the compression moulding process, which results in a reduction of costs and manufacturing time.
